Title of Course

VISA 3F91 Advanced Art Practice

Artistic research and creation from the perspective of project oriented, independent production. Development of artistic practices emphasizing concept to realization processes.

Lectures, lab 5 hours per week.

Schedule: 1600-2100

Delivery Method: face-to-face

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

1. MFA is required.

2. Previous teaching experience of at least two years in foundation studio, drawing and sculpture courses at the university level is required.

3. Demonstrated ability to teach students in all areas of studio practice is required.

4. A record of professional activity and exhibitions demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.

5. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level; and in the area to be taught are required by providing copies of recent teaching course/performance evaluations.
