Position Summary: The HR Assistant will assist with staff and personnel matters pertaining to the plant operations at the facility including, but not limited to recruitment and selection, conditions of employment, absenteeism control programs, and other tasks. He/she also provides support to Management to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Part Time - 3 days a week

Responsibilities:

Work with Talent Acquisition team to administer the standard recruiting and placement strategies and implementation plans in the areas of talent management, employee relations and employee engagement. Responsible for hourly recruitment, interviews, reference checks, orientation, set up of new plant employees into Dayforce. Provide HR admin support to plant management Team where possible. Monitor and maintain attendance program, prepare letters, reports etc. Assist to ensure all job descriptions are kept up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant laws/regulations for all positions. Works closely with Plant HR Manager/Supervisors, and Corporate HR. Maintain employee files, both electronic and hard copies Ensures consistency of HR policies and procedures. Support OH& S coordinator and claims management Other duties as required.

Requirements:

Post-Secondary diploma in Human Resources, or business. Minimum 2 years of related administrative experience preferred. Understanding of Employment Standards/labour law an asset High sense of urgency, well organized and able to prioritize effectively. Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and multi-tasking skills. Highly proficient computer skills, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Must be able to work flexible hours, when required.
