Location: Surrey, B.C.

Position Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

Reports to: Intake Specialists.

Supervision of: Program Navigators.

Compensation: $32.49 – $34.18

Job Summary:

TheAccess Coordinator is responsible for providing point of care leadership to theadmissions team supporting centralized intake processes for all bed-basedsubstance use programs. The Access Coordinator will also oversee the ProgramNavigators who support intake, transition, and discharge planning across allbed-based programs.

Responsibilities:

Program Management:

Coordinatesthe work of the Intake Specialists and Program Navigators on a day-to-day basis. Ensuresintake staff follow established criteria and prioritizes intakes based oncriteria, leads, and facilitates actions related to daily client flow, plansfor client transfer or discharge and appropriate client placement/referral. Liaiseswith the clinical care team to ensure specific care plan actions and processesare completed and reviews the intake and discharge planning of clients toensure optimal progression to discharge, in collaboration with the otherclinical team members. Responsiblefor ensuring admissions team files and manages all verification paperwork asrequired to adhere to accreditation, licensing and safety guidelines, and/orfunding sources. Actsas a point person for clients, families, and community care teams who haveconcerns or questions regarding their care; follows ups as required.

Administration:

Providesoversight related to clinical and organizational data collection across allMHSU programs; prepares reports for MHSU leadership and funders, as required. Managescentral client calendar to ensure program participants are supported by programnavigators to attend scheduled appointments offsite as part of their treatment.

Human Resources:

Assiststhe Manager by attending panel interviews, providing recommendations on theselection of new staff, providing feedback to the Manager on staff performanceappraisals, and optimal use of budgetary resources. Determinesrelated training and orientation requirements. Assigningand adjusting workload, schedules, and coordinating staff when coverage isneeded, ensuring service levels, and staffing requirements are met.

Community Engagement:

Participatesin funder meetings and community stakeholder committees on behalf of theprogram as required by the MHSU leadership.

Qualifications:

Post-secondarydiploma in social work, community services, etc., or an equivalent combinationof education and experience. 2 to 4 years ofpractical experience in an admission setting working with vulnerablepopulations, substance use services, mental health, or corrections. Satisfactorycompletion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening isrequired. Satisfactorycompletion of Tuberculosis Screening form is required. Satisfactorycompletion of Employee Immunization Record form is required. StandardFirst Aid - with CPR-C-AED is required. Valid driver’s license withdriver’s abstract. High level of integrityand dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Demonstratedstrong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to lead and workin a trauma-informed practice. Demonstratedcommitment to the social sector with a passion for the organization’s missionis essential.

Salary for this role is between $32.49 – $34.18 per hour.
