The Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, will lead the development and execution of strategic recruitment initiatives to attract exceptional talent for corporate and specialized roles. This position oversees a team of recruiters and talent acquisition specialists, collaborates with senior stakeholders, and ensures the hiring process is seamless, efficient, and aligned with the organization's goals. The ideal candidate is a highly organized leader with a sense of urgency, able to thrive under tight deadlines while driving results.


What you are responsible for:


The Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, will be responsible for the following and other duties as assigned to meet organizational objectives:


  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies that align with organizational priorities.
  • Establish innovative sourcing methods to attract qualified passive candidates and address hard-to-fill roles.
  • Provide oversight and governance for talent acquisition policies and standards, ensuring compliance with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and relevant regulations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing recruitment team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Conduct workforce planning and forecast headcount needs to proactively address future talent demands.
  • Monitor market trends, industry benchmarks, and competitive data to inform targeted recruitment strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with external recruitment vendors, job boards, academic institutions, and other talent sources.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of recruitment technologies, including Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Design and execute employer branding initiatives to enhance the organization’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Analyze recruitment metrics to identify trends, evaluate performance, and propose process improvements to reduce cycle time and hiring costs.
  • Manage recruitment budgets and resource allocation efficiently.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on recruitment activities, metrics, and results to the executive team.

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of coaching and mentoring recruitment teams.
  • Business acumen and the ability to align recruitment strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to manage complex hiring processes.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and build lasting partnerships.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop metric-based goals and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Resilient, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure.


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in recruitment, including leadership or managerial roles.
  • Knowledge of employment standards and relevant legislation.
  • Industry-specific recruitment experience (education, healthcare, technology, etc.) is an asset.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.
