JOB SUMMARY

The Translation Service Coordinator is responsible for the daily processing of translation requests.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ·      

  • Managing and processing the flow of incoming translation requests, from opening to completion, and resolving routine inquiries.
  • Assigning specific translation requests to the appropriate Community Translator by selecting the Translator based on various factors such as training and qualifications.
  • Following up with all parties such as translators, clients, and user agencies to confirm costs, assignment, and other required information.
  • Reviewing submitted translation work as appropriate.
  • Assisting Program Manager to ensure exceptional quality and performance standards are met.
  • Providing administrative and functional support to translators as required.
  • Dealing with client concerns and bringing forward complaints to the Program Manager.
  • Providing system support such as collecting data from translators and entering information into database.
  • Managing and maintaining other electronic records ensuring efficient and systematic control of documentation.
  • Providing regular statistics for internal purposes and researching for potential new clients.
  • Performing other related duties as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as translation, linguistics, communication, business administration or a combination of related education and experience.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is a requirement; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage a wide variety of tasks often.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Access, MS Office and web based tools; graphic design experience an asset.
  • Ability to make sound decisions to allocate work assignments in an efficient manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful and challenging circumstances.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Respect for the values and differences that all members of a small multicultural team bring to an office environment
  • Adapts well to different approaches and is flexible to move in new directions.

  •  Works under minimal supervision and receives guidance as required.
  • Makes decisions and exercises independent judgement within generally established procedures and practices.
  • Uses tact and discretion when communicating information concerning clients' personal documents.

  • Work is performed in an office environment that is clean and comfortable.
  • No additional equipment is required from the candidate

COMPENSATION

  • $45,000.00 annually
