The Head, Translation Services manages the Translation Services team in order to deliver high-quality linguistic services across the NRC. The incumbent is responsible for planning the services, setting the team performance goals, managing suppliers, and establishing and maintaining service standards. The incumbent is extremely detail-oriented, works closely with other staff members to ensure the NRC language standards are met, and provides proactive solutions to ensure continuous improvement and to promote clear, inclusive and accessible language. The incumbent maintains strong links with colleagues in the Branch and across the NRC to ensure alignment with their objectives and those of the whole organization.

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
A bachelor’s degree in translation (English to French) from a recognized Canadian university.

**Experience**:

- Extensive supervised experience in translating various types of documents, reports and communications products.
- Experience in providing translation services within a large organization.
- Experience in providing sound advice on translation issues.
- Experience in supervision of personnel.
- Knowledge of translation tools such as LogiTerm, **an asset**
- Extensive experience is defined as having experience through the performance of related activities within the last 5 years for a minimum period of 3 to 5 years.

- Ability to translate and review content under pressure at a professional level.
- Extensive knowledge of the translation process and of the acceptable quantity and quality standards according to the situation.
- Extensive knowledge of the quality assurance practices.
- Knowledge of project planning, design, development, and implementation.
- Ability to prepare Requests for Proposals and to select contractors, services providers, etc., that can best support work requirements.

**Relocation**:
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

**Compensation**:
From $99,759 to $106,945 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
