## DescriptionWe are hiring a Components Sales and Estimator to join our team at CESSCO Fabrication & Engineering in Edmonton, AB. Responsible for driving sales growth and maintaining a profitable, well-aligned backlog of work for the Components division. This role owns the commercial lifecycle of components opportunities from opportunity identification and estimating through order award and handoff to production.The Components Sales and Estimator position is a full-time role with a $90,000 - $104,000 salary, based on experience. We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of experience in sales, estimating, fabrication or a related role as well as experience in pressure vessel or heavy fabrication manufacturing, including components such as heads, shells, nozzles, or spools. A post-secondary degree or diploma in related business or engineering disciples would be an asset and relevant trades experience will also be considered.The position serves as a primary customer contact, developing and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring estimates, proposals, and awarded work are aligned with CESSCO's operational capabilities, margin expectations, and delivery commitments. As such, the successful candidate will need to be able to read and interpret drawings, data sheets, specifications, purchase orders, and other documents as well as have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret and follow written, oral, and technical instructions. This role crosses over with many other people in the company and so the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team is crucial.Familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management tools would be an asset, but the ability to learn them and our CRM and estimating software is more important.The Components Sales & Estimator is regularly required to site, stand, walk, touch materials with their hands, talk, and listen as well as wear appropriate PPE when entering certain parts of our facilities. We look forward to hearing from you.## DutiesSales & Business Development* Proactively identify, pursue, and develop components-related sales opportunities.* Build and maintain a sustainable pipeline and backlog of components work aligned with Cessco’s strategic and operational objectives.* Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to position Cessco as a preferred supplier for components work, including repeat and program-based opportunities.Estimating & Commercial Review* Prepare accurate and timely written quotations for components inquiries in accordance with inquiry documents, specifications, and company standards.* Perform material take-offs from drawings, data sheets, and specifications.* Estimate labour requirements and develop preliminary delivery schedules.* Apply sound commercial judgment with respect to pricing, margins, assumptions, and delivery commitments.* Ensure estimating practices align with Cessco’s standard processes, including collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Production as required.Proposal Management & Award Handoff* Participate in bid clarification meetings and pre-award discussions when requested.* Review customer purchase orders to confirm alignment with quoted scope, pricing, assumptions, and pre-award correspondence.* Own the post-award handoff process, ensuring all scope, commercial assumptions, technical requirements, and delivery expectations are clearly communicated to internal stakeholders.* Support internal kickoff or turnover meetings as required to ensure a clean transition to execution.Internal Collaboration & Continuous Improvement* Communicate customer and contract requirements clearly to Engineering, Quality, Production, and other internal teams.* Participate as a member of the Estimating team in continuous improvement initiatives, including refinement of estimating norms and feedback from executed work.Other Responsibilities* Participate in strategic planning and business development efforts as requested.* Perform other duties, responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager to support overall business objectives.## Qualifications* Read and interpret drawings, data sheets, specifications, purchase orders, terms and conditions, and other contractual documents.* Ability to learn and use the CRM system, estimating software and tools.* Strong written and verbal communication skills with both customers and internal teams.* Solid understanding of financial concepts including margins, percentages, and pricing structures.* Ability to interpret and follow written, oral, and technical instructions.* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.* Highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.* Familiarity with Microsoft Project or other project management tools is an asset.* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team.## Additional InfoPhysical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, touch materials with hands, talk and listen.
