**Description**:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager - Components with an entrepreneurial mindset to lead our specialized components division. This division serves both internal and external customers. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing project execution, ensuring cost-effective production, maintaining quality standards, and driving customer satisfaction through accurate bid proposals and efficient project work order execution. Key responsibilities include:
- Sales: Develop and expand the customer base for ongoing and repeat work while pursuing individual sales opportunities.
- Project Management & Estimating: Manage project execution from quoting through to cash, ensuring accurate bid proposals and seamless work order execution.
- Production Management: Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
- Materials Coordination: Oversee material sourcing, scheduling, and logistics to support project execution.
**Duties**:
- Prepare detailed quotations and bid proposals in alignment with customer specifications and company standards.
- Marshall the production and project execution to meet internal and external customer expectations.
- Ensure on-time delivery and execution of work with projected margins at completion
- Compile itemized estimate sheets based on inquiry data sheets and specifications.
- Source material and service costs while coordinating deliveries with suppliers.
- Estimate labor requirements and determine approximate delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Respond to customer inquiries, refine estimates, and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Provide input to Business Development and the General Manager regarding potential sales opportunities.
- Participate in bid review and pre-award meetings.
- Review customer purchase orders for compliance with quotations and contractual agreements.
- Prepare Sales Orders and necessary documentation following job awards.
- Prepare/ Maintain Quote Status Report Log
- Identify and recommend departmental improvements to the Estimating Manager, Sales Manager.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the division.
- Provide Document turn over packages to Customers
**Qualifications**:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, Diploma in Engineering Design & Drafting Technology or a combination of an applicable trade credential and relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a production environment.
- Experience in pressure vessel and components manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ASME Codes and industry standards.
- Prior experience in estimating is an asset.
- Proficiency in software related to estimating, such as Excel or industry-specific software.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, data sheets, and specifications.
- Proficiency in evaluating purchase orders, contract terms, and other relevant documents.
- Effective communication skills with customers and internal teams, including proficiency in professional business correspondence.
- Strong cost accounting knowledge
- Ability to problem-solve and manage conflicting demands effectively.
