Law Clerk - Family
Brampton, ON
4 DAY WORK WEEK AVAILABLE
Our client, a friendly law firm located in Brampton, is in need of an energetic Family Law Clerk to join its team. This is a firm with a very low turnover of staff.
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
- Opening, closing and organizing physical and electronic client files
- Drafting correspondence, schedule appointments, coordinate meetings/conferences and court appearances
- Drafting family law related documents including pleadings, financial statements, net family property statements, agreements, orders, affidavits, memos, etc.)
- Coordinating/Communicating with third party service providers and party's (e.g. process servers, courts, appraisal companies, etc.)
- Maintain tickler system, photocopying, faxing, binding of documents, printing, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 2+ years of Family Law experience (mandatory)
REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of Family Law Rules and procedure
- Effective and efficient time management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with DivorceMate
