Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk
to join our team.

Position Summary

The Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk will be responsible for managing the firm's day-to-day financial transactions, trust and general accounting, billing, and reconciliations in compliance with Law Society requirements. This role works closely with firm leadership and external accountants to ensure accuracy, transparency, and financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and record all financial transactions using Clio and QuickBooks
  • Prepare and post trust and general account entries
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for operating and trust accounts
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Day-to-day cheque preparation and electronic payments
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation in compliance with Law Society regulations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closings and financial reporting
  • Provide periodic financial summaries to management
  • Handle billing and invoicing
  • Conduct bank runs and financial errands as required
  • Collaborate with the COO, Operations Manager, Managing Partners, and external accountants
  • Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounting Clerk, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Clio
  • Solid understanding of trust accounting and Law Society compliance requirements
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and client information with discretion
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
