The Opportunity
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in clean numbers, organized systems, and continuous improvement.
You'll work directly with leadership to manage accounting functions, improve processes, and provide accurate, insightful reporting that drives better decisions.
Your work will help ensure that Fortified remains efficient, financially sound, and positioned for scale.

This role is primarily in-office in Calgary, but we are open to flexible hours or hybrid arrangements for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including A/P, A/R, and reconciliations
- Prepare month-end and year-end reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain financial records, general ledgers, and documentation for audits
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support leadership with data for strategic and operational decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting accuracy
- Liaise with external accountants or auditors as needed
- Maintain compliance with CRA and corporate financial standards
Who You Are

You Bring:
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience in a professional setting
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel/Google Sheets, and digital accounting tools
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations
- Experience in service-based or project-driven industries (technology, construction, or trades is an asset)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with high accountability and attention to detail
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and a growth mindset
