We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Alberta Service Team. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to supporting our customers in the field. Day to day, you'll perform emergency and scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems, and complete commissioning and repair work on diesel and natural-gas power generation equipment.

In this role, you will also be responsible for:

  • Performing field service activities including maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on generator systems.
  • Completing startups, commissioning, calibrations, and load bank testing.
  • Overhauling engines, compressors, and related control/pneumatic systems.
  • Maintaining high-quality service documentation and communicating effectively with customers.
  • Supporting junior technicians and participating in the on-call rotation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in power generation or gas compression field service, including operating a service truck.
  • Journeyperson certification or active apprenticeship (HET, Millwright, Automotive, Electrician, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Experience performing in-frame overhauls, repairs, and preventative maintenance on stationary natural gas and diesel engines and compressors.
  • Understanding of AC/DC systems and ability to read schematics, manuals, and diagnostic outputs.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining strong communication and teamwork.
  • Possession of standard trade tools.
  • Able and legally eligible to travel internationally.

Preferred

  • Additional experience with auxiliary gas compression equipment.
  • Advanced diagnostic experience with electronic engine controls.
