Hourly Rate: $22.00 CAD
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused IT Field Technician to join our team on a part-time basis.
The majority of your work (50–70%) will be performed remotely from home, providing phone and remote-desktop support to our clients using our remote management and monitoring tools. Occasionally (when remote resolution is not possible), you will drive to client sites to perform hands-on troubleshooting and installations.
Note 1: A reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license are mandatory, as on-site visits are required.
Note 2: This position is scheduled to be promoted to full-time by January 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first and second-level technical support via phone, email, and remote tools
- Perform on-site hardware/software installations and troubleshooting when required
- Diagnose and resolve network, printing, and connectivity issues for end-users
- Manage day-to-day IT operations for small to medium-sized businesses and health clinics
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows 11 workstations
- Proven ability to install and troubleshoot network printers and resolve network connectivity issues
- Expertise in setting up and troubleshooting network file sharing and FTP services
- Solid Active Directory experience on Windows Server 2019 or newer (user/account management, group policies, OU structure)
- In-depth knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and VPN configuration and troubleshooting
- Full understanding of IPv4 addressing (including classes, subnetting) and ability to configure/troubleshoot TCP/IP settings
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into plain English
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism when dealing with non-technical users
- Strong triage and prioritization skills in a multi-client support environment
Nice-to-Have (Not Required):
- Previous IT support experience in medical or health clinic environments
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software such as HealthQuest or Accuro
Requirements:
- Reliable personal vehicle and clean driving record (mileage reimbursed at CRA rate)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Quiet, dedicated home office space with high-speed internet for remote work
- Business casual attire required for all on-site client visits (collared shirt, dress pants, closed-toe shoes – jeans, t-shirts, and/or sneakers might be allowed if they maintain elegancy)
What We Offer:
- Consistent part-time hours (16 hrs/week) with the same schedule every week
- Work-from-home flexibility for the majority of shifts
- Mileage reimbursement for client visits (up to $100 CAD per month)
- Opportunity to grow into a larger role as the company expands
- Supportive team environment and ongoing training
If you're a calm, organized, and technically proficient IT professional who enjoys helping people and doesn't mind the occasional drive to a client site, we'd love to hear from you
We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
