Your Role at Manion

As a Finance Coordinator (6-Month Contract) your main responsibility in this role will be the daily administration, monitoring and control of cash flow and the accounts payable function, ensuring that cash & payables for clients administered by Manion are maintained in an effective, accurate and timely manner and all disbursement dates are met, while maintaining an appropriate cash balance in the bank account.

Whether you're making, recording, or analyzing transactions, you'll need to keep accurate records to ensure nothing ends up where it shouldn't be. Usually things will go pretty smoothly, but when something doesn't seem right, you'll need to report and explain inconsistencies to our Director of Finance and help come up with the fix.

You will be required to maintain accurate, up to date filing systems and records (Paper & Electronic), allowing the Financial Analysts to easily access information when preparing financial statements and audit working papers, as well as the auditors at year end.

Sometimes you'll be working with others on projects, so you'll also need to bring good interpersonal skills to this position. This is a hybrid role working from our Etobicoke office.

What You'll Do

  • You will posts all deposits to the general ledgers.
  • You will enter, process, and post all EFTs (Electronic Funds Transfers) and cheques to the general ledger. Distribute cheques as needed within the specified deadline.
  • You will balance each bank account within 30 days of the month end. Addresses any outstanding issues/errors and follows them up until they are resolved.
  • On a daily basis you will check cash flow position of accounts (making use of TD Business Banking and CIBC online facilities) and makes appropriate transfer to or from the investment custodians.
  • You will produces cheques list for each agenda as required by Sales & Service.
  • You will maintain all files in regards to investment reports, bank statements, cancelled cheques, and paid invoices.
  • You will assist with the annual audit working files.
  • You will immediately notify the bank of any problems with their assigned accounts and follows-up until the problem is resolved.
  • You will work in a team with other members of the Finance Department, including providing coverage of accounts while the other incumbent is on vacation or absent.
  • You may have to work paid overtime as required.
  • You will inform the manager of any problems or areas of concern that require special attention.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Experience in accounting or finance an asset
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office (especially Excel), and experience working with Sage Intacct
  • Experience using Sage Intacct an asset
  • Ability to learn new software

YOUR COMPENSATION

At the time of this posting, the estimated pay range for this position is $43,000-$47,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the base pay and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
