About the Value Creation function

The Value Creation Team is a strategic and operational partner that brings best-practice playbooks, toolkits, resources, and execution support to help our portfolio companies scale. We work closely with portfolio company leadership teams and our Operating Partner to help drive our investment thesis into operational reality— driving predictable growth, stronger efficiency and repeatability, nurture and enhance talent, and ultimately help improve enterprise value.

Over time, we are looking to build out centres of excellence around sales, marketing, AI and product, finance, talent, and business operations. We seek to hire an entrepreneurial and high-performing finance professional who will help build and lead Oakline's finance motion. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious mid-career finance professional/leader to build the foundations of centralized finance at the Oakline level, be a strong partner to business unit CFOs and finance teams and help our deal team vet acquisition opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting and Governance:

• Drive Oakline's monthly and quarterly corporate consolidations and reporting – this stream includes working closely with portfolio company CFOs to drive insightful business unit-level reporting and analysis, and aggregating results and performance insights at the Oakline level
• Manage compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax laws, corporate governance standards, and industry-specific requirements (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, local jurisdictions), and lead the coordination of external audits, tax filings, and any regulatory reviews at the Oakline level
• Support the development of investor materials, financial packs, supporting data schedules, and other materials for debt raises/equity fundraises

Portfolio Financial Management and Business Partnership:

• Act as the primary advisor/point of contact for portfolio CFOs on financial strategy, capital allocation, compliance, and other matters
• Shepherd annual and quarterly planning for portfolio businesses
• Implement scalable financial processes and systems across all portfolio companies
• Drive standardization and automation on analytical processes across portfolio companies (e.g., pricing calculators, revenue retention analyses)

M&A:

• Drive financial due diligence workstreams on acquisitions, including coordinating with relevant 3rd party advisors (e.g. tax)
• Lead financial integration workstreams (systems, processes, people review, reporting standardization, etc.)
• Support the deal team with other ad hoc analyses, as required

About You:

• 5 to 10 years of total experience in finance and accounting. Ideally with a background in Big 4 Accounting/Transaction Advisory, and at least 3 years in industry at either a software roll-up or a highly acquisitive software business
• Must have a robust understanding of US GAAP and experience driving financial integrations on acquisitions
• Must have a CPA; Accounting/Business degree from a Tier-1 university is an asset
