The Secretary will be responsible for providing support to a number of Rehabilitation Physicians. The Secretary will manage outpatient appointments as well as a variety of secretarial duties supporting the Rehabilitation Program.
1. Graduate of community college secretarial or Office Administration Diploma (preferable Medical) or 3 years equivalent experience
2. Medical terminology
3. Proven proficiency in Windows 95, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Meditech, Dictation
4. Minimum 60 wpm typing speed
5. Working knowledge of all office systems
6. Exceptional organization and time management skills
7. Ability to prioritize tasks in response to continually changing work demands
8. Ability to meet task deadlines and work well under pressure and with constant interruptions
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a professional environment
10. Professionalism in dealing with difficult and verbally aggressive clients
11. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
12. Ability to work well in a team environment
13. Commitment to on-going learning and education
The Regional Rehabilitation Program provides a full-range of services, including Senior's Health Services, Acquired Brain Injury Programs, Prosthetics & Orthotics, Chronic Pain, Driver's Rehab, Specialized Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, and inpatient care at the Henderson, General and Chedoke sites.
