Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in food preparation, cooking, and hospitality to contribute to a vibrant dining environment and support the growth of our culinary standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including supervising staff and coordinating food preparation activities.
  • Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Prepare high-quality dishes consistently while maintaining presentation standards.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional development.
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with health codes.
  • Serve as a leader during service hours, supporting staff in delivering excellent customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus, specials, and new culinary initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive work environment that promotes hospitality excellence and high standards of food quality.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years as a Sous Chef (preferably in a high-volume restaurant)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Caribbean cuisine
  • Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
  • Deep understanding of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Experience in restaurant management or hospitality industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to serve as a role model for staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours.
  • Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for outstanding cuisine and service excellence, offering an engaging environment for professional growth within the food industry.
  • Availability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed
