Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Martial Arts Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in martial arts instruction, with the ability to teach students of various ages and skill levels. This role involves developing training programs, demonstrating techniques, and fostering a positive learning environment that promotes discipline, confidence, and physical fitness. Experience in swimming is a valuable asset, as it allows for a broader range of instruction and class offerings. The instructor will play a key role in helping students achieve their personal goals while maintaining safety and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging martial arts classes for students of all ages and skill levels, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed
  • Develop customized training plans to meet individual student needs and goals
  • Demonstrate martial arts techniques clearly and effectively, providing constructive feedback for improvement
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and motivating environment that encourages student growth and confidence
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance and achievements
  • Assist with organizing special events, demonstrations, or competitions as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the training area to ensure a safe environment for all participants

Experience

  • Proven experience teaching martial arts, with certification or ranking in relevant disciplines preferred
  • Prior experience teaching swimming is highly desirable, enabling instruction across multiple fitness activities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage students of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to demonstrate technical skills accurately while maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Passion for fitness, discipline, and helping others achieve their personal best

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $17.85-$46.16 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Work Location: In person
