Steamoji, a maker academy for kids aged 5–14, is hiring friendly and energetic Facilitators to guide young apprentices through hands-on, project-based learning in a fun and supportive environment.
About Steamoji
Steamoji is a maker academy that complements and enriches children's school studies by introducing them to new technologies in Fabrication, Physical Computing, Engineering, and Digital Arts while nurturing soft skills like design thinking, growth mindset, and entrepreneurship. What You'll Do
As a Steamoji Facilitator, you'll lead small-group sessions where students explore the world of making through a variety of pathways—such as 3D design, animation, coding, and robotics. You'll help foster confidence, creativity, and problem-solving in every child.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide 6–8 apprentices through STEAM projects using tools like Tinkercad, 3D printers, microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino), Scratch, and more
- Assist with the deployment of Steamoji's structured curriculum and ensure projects are completed safely and effectively
- Inspire a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Encourage apprentices to think creatively, build a growth mindset, and explore solutions
- Track student progress and share feedback with parents
- Contribute to a fun and collaborative team culture
- Review training materials and instructional videos in advance to be well-prepared for each session
- Engage in self-learning using Steamoji's training resources to continuously build your knowledge and teaching confidence
- Capture and share project artifacts (photos/videos) with parents
- Maintain and oversee the safe use of tools and materials
What We're Looking For
- Experience or strong interest in: 3D design, coding (Scratch, Python), robotics, engineering, or digital tools like animation
- Comfortable working with children ages 5–14
- Enthusiastic, patient, and confident communicator
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or youth programs is an asset
- Self-motivated and willing to prepare for sessions through independent learning
- Available during after-school hours and/or weekends
- Training provided—curiosity and willingness to learn is essential
