About Us:
Merlin Plastics is a leading plastic recycling and manufacturing company committed to sustainability and innovation. We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable to join our finance team and support daily accounting operations.
- Review and verify invoices and cheque requests
- Sort, code, and match invoices; set them up for payment
- Enter invoices into the accounting system
- Track and process employee expense reports
- Prepare and perform cheque runs
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare account analyses
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor issues
- Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files
- Communicate with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
Additional Duties:
- Assist with some sales invoicing and production spreadsheet entries
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as required
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures
- Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Business Central / Navision preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Accurate data entry and record management skills
- Minimum 1-2 years experience
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of confidentiality and sound judgment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset and teamwork oriented
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
