Role overview

The AP Associate will be responsible to process accounts payable in accordance with company policies and industry best practices.

What you'll be doing

• Process accounts payable in a timely manner.
• Reconcile vendor statements on a regular basis and work to resolve discrepancies.
• Work with internal stakeholders to resolve issues that prevent invoice processing.
• Communicate with vendors as necessary (vendor liaison)
• Gather payable invoices via email, postal mail, and vendor portals.
• Perform three-way match on PO-based invoices.
• Coordinate manual approval on invoices not requiring purchase orders.
• Evaluate invoice approvals and receiving paperwork to ensure compliance with internal policies and audit requirements.
• Prepare weekly payment batches.
• Carefully adhere to all company policies, especially those related to security and fraud prevention.
• Make routine accruals and other entries at month-end.
• Assist in gathering information for year-end and interim audits.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and with colleagues across the organization.

What we're looking for

• 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable, specifically relating to inventory.
• Manufacturing experience mandatory.
• Post-Secondary Education in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Organized and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Experience with ERP accounting software, preferably MS Dynamics Business Central is an asset.
• Experience with SAP Concur is an asset.
