Position Title: Merritt Child Care Resource and Referral Consultant (CCRR)

Location: CCRR Merrit, East entrance (2990 Voght St. Merritt, BC V1K 1C8)

Term: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Shift: Monday 10AM-6PM

Tuesday-Friday 8:30AM-4:00PM

Rotating Saturday mornings and occasional evenings to meet contract needs

Start Date: November 17, 2025

Salary: $52,452.40 annually

Reports To: Coordinator, CCRR Program

Nature & Scope

At the YMCA, we're dedicated to supporting children, families, and childcare providers so communities can thrive. Through our Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) program, we offer a wide range of services across School District 58 (Merritt and Princeton) and, occasionally, the Goldtrail area of School District 74 (Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Lytton, Lillooet, and Clinton). Our goal is to enhance the quality and accessibility of childcare by providing families and providers with valuable resources, information, and referrals.

Families benefit from support in finding childcare, understanding subsidy options, accessing community resources, and participating in engaging programs like playgroups, Parent-Child Mother Goose, Infant Massage, and Circle of Security Parenting. Childcare providers receive assistance with start-up and administration, access to workshops and networking opportunities, and use of our resource and toy library.

Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:

  • Provide strong customer services and support to those individuals and organizations utilizing the services of the CCRR program
  • Provide childcare information, consultations, and referrals to families
  • Facilitate workshops, courses, programs, networking, community events and conferences for childcare providers, early childhood educators and parents
  • Recruit, register and conduct home visits of registered License Not Required Family Child Care providers
  • Plan and implement outreach activities to childcare providers and families including story times in the park.
  • Provide consultation, networking, training, and resource development to childcare providers
  • Demonstrate the ability to be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented in order to meet the needs of School District #58.
  • To work in collaboration and partnership and maintain positive working relationships with other community agencies and service providers
  • To know, understand and maintain all BC Government CCRR Program Standards and YMCA BC legal requirements

Qualification-you bring:

  • Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalent training.
  • Experience working in childcare and/or within the early years sector (asset)
  • Proven computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • Facilitation skills an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to use vehicle for travel within SD 58
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently and within a larger team
  • Child Care First Aid/CPR certificate an asset

  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references

  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
