Summary
We are seeking a Child Care Director to join our team in Edmonton. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the educational experiences of young children while embodying our values of Integrity, Fun, Growth Mindset, Relationships, Inclusion, Collaboration and Purposesful Learning. Your leadership will contribute significantly to our mission of providing exceptional care and learning opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the child care center, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes children's growth and development.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and staff through effective communication.
- Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health and fire regulations and standards for early childhood education.
- Organize activities that engage children's creativity and curiosity.
- Monitor children's progress and adapt programs to meet individual needs.
- Promote a positive atmosphere that encourages laughter, learning, and teamwork.
- Oversee enrollment, staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
- Quick to understand and utilize technology effectively for documentation, communication, and reporting.
- Manage budgeting, accounting, and financial tracking to support operational goals.
Qualifications
- Level 3 (two-year Diploma in Early Childhood Development or equivalent from an approved College/University).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education or Child Care industry.
- Minimum of 1 year in a management or leadership role
- First Aid in Child Care (current).
- Clear Current criminal record check, including vulnerable sector search.
- Post-secondary education in a business-related field or equivalent experience with finances and budgeting (an asset).
- Strong classroom management skills with a focus on creating an engaging learning environment.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills to build rapport with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
This position is Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
