We are looking for a creative and skilled cake artist to help build our bakery into the ultimate dessert destination for our customers — known for beautiful custom cakes, specialty pastries, and unforgettable sweet treats.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a small team, following production schedules and decorating plans
  • Read and follow recipes, prepare batters, fillings, icings, and pastry components
  • Bake cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts to high quality standards
  • Design, assemble, and decorate cakes using buttercream, fondant, ganache, piping, and other decorative techniques
  • Create custom cakes for celebrations and special orders with attention to detail and presentation
  • Ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and visual appeal of all products
  • Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, organized, and food-safe
  • Contribute to a welcoming and positive customer experience through pride in your work

Qualifications:

  • A desire to learn and grow in cake decorating and pastry arts
  • Reliable transportation is required, as public transportation is not available
  • Early risers — shifts start as early as 7 am
  • A positive attitude and strong organizational skills
  • Pride in a job well done and initiative to stay productive
  • Demonstrated commitment to the bakery's success and your own development
  • Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or cake decorating role is considered an asset
  • At least 1 year of baking or cake decorating experience preferred
  • Formal pastry or baking training is an asset
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Customer service background preferred
  • Basic English skills required to read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate with customers and team members
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous standing and walking throughout shifts
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg
  • Frequent turning and reaching
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and forward bending
  • Constant use of both hands, frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping (piping, decorating, and handling tools)

At least 1 year baking experience is preferred and formal pastry/baking training an asset.
