Division: Transportation and ConstructionDepartment: Saskatoon TransitTerm: 2 Permanent Full Time positions available.Closing Date: 11/28/2025Labour Group: ATU 615Posting: 4753Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, this position cleans and maintains buses, buildings, facilities, and equipment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCleans interior and exterior of Transit vehicles, buildings, facilities, and equipment.Performs routine maintenance tasks on civic buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment.Fuels and services Transit vehicles, including checking fluids, changing tires, and minor adjustments.Performs vehicle changeovers in accordance with established proceduresRecord changeovers and defects electronically via Microsoft Forms.Assign runs in accordance with daily track sheets via Transit technological software.Operates buses, tow trucks, power mobile equipment, and small trucks, as required.Designates or parks vehicles and records locations in accordance with established procedures.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsGrade 12 education.Successful completion of a relevant mechanical aptitude test.Training and/or experience related to fleet maintenance would be an asset.Experience in the operation of office equipment including a computer with Windows software and/or Transit technological software.Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence. Must pass the written air brake test within one week after the date of hire and obtain the air brake endorsement within one month after the date of hire.Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.Possession of a valid class 1A Driver's Licence would be considered an assetSuccessful and efficient completion of the assigned training in accordance with Transit maintenance procedures and practices.Possession of own tools appropriate for the work.Knowledge of limitations and safety rules regarding equipment condition.Ability to perform the above duties in a safe and efficient manner and according to Department procedures.Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.Knowledge of limitations and safety rules regarding equipment condition.Ability to perform the above duties in an efficient manner and according to Department procedures.
