About the Role

The QC Inspector is a positive, reliable, solution-oriented team player. Able to manage multiple activities and pivot quickly to other priorities, the QC Inspector will ensure that all Steelhaus product meets all engineering requirements. Note: Welding inspection experience does not apply.

Position Details

Status: Full-Time

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Location: Calgary AB (NE Area)

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final dimensional inspection of machined components using calibrated tooling including micrometers, calipers, MRPs and hard gauges.
  • Calibrate tools using high precision reference standards.
  • Monitor, evaluate and re-calibrate tooling that has expired calibration.
  • Initiate Nonconformance Reports where requirements are not met.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Able to read and understand part drawings and a general knowledge of GD&T
  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop (welding inspection experience does not apply).
  • Experience using a variety of hand inspection tools
  • Experience with specialized instruments such as Surface Finish Gauge, Wall Thickness Gauge, CMM is considered an asset
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office)
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and API Q1 10th Quality Systems is an asset

  • Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment with multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow Technical Instructions and complete Forms in compliance product requirements.
  • Demonstrated team player with a positive attitude.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and able lift medium loads (25lbs or less) , stand for prolonged periods, bend, and twist.
  • Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak English
