Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional administrative support. This position involves managing front desk activities, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining electronic medical records. A strong understanding of medical terminology and experience with office systems is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries effectively.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using software such as Med Access and Health Quest.
  • Assist in the management of patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow and communication within the office.
  • Perform general administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
  • Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff regarding health-related topics.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical office is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems; experience with Med Access and Health Quest is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and administrative procedures relevant to healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as computers, printers, and phone systems is essential.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have a valid driver's license to travel to our 2nd clinic in Fort Saskatchewan.
