Overview

Drivesure Insurance Services is an innovative private vehicle insurance administrator offering vehicle insurance products in B.C. and Alberta. Our products are sold and managed by our insurance office partners and broker networks, who are supported by our internal teams.

Our company has significantly grown over the recent years and we are looking for a detail orientated individual with a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in accounting software. As a full-time Bookkeeper/Accountant you will contribute to the financial success of the organization. This position is based out of our Head Office in Burnaby (Edmonds & Kingsway). Our team works under a hybrid model - two days in the office, three working remotely.

Duties

  • Process accounts payables, ensuring timely and accurate billing and payments.
  • Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Support preparation of tax information as necessary for our external accountants.
  • Assists with the month-end process, as needed (primarily reconciling bank and GL accounts).
  • Maintain internal accounting controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a company bookkeeper/accountant or similar role.
  • Accounting Certificate and/or Diploma, an asset.
  • Accounting experience in the insurance industry is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
