Position Overview
As a Logistics Dispatcher, you'll play a central role in coordinating daily delivery operations, supporting drivers, and ensuring smooth communication across teams. You'll be the heartbeat of our dispatch system—balancing efficiency, customer service, and real-time decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily delivery routes for maximum efficiency and timeliness
- Maintain constant communication with drivers to manage updates, delays, and rerouting
- Monitor traffic, weather, and road conditions to proactively adjust routes
- Collaborate with customer service to meet client delivery expectations
- Handle quoting and pricing for new load bookings
- Use dispatch software and load boards (Loadlink, DAT) to assign and track loads
- Provide on-call support and ensure dispatch coverage during weekends and emergencies
- Build strong relationships with drivers and clients to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain accurate records and provide status updates to internal teams
What We're Looking For
This position is only open to experienced and serious candidates. Applications without relevant dispatch experience will not be considered.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of dispatching experience in logistics or transportation
- High school diploma (post-secondary education in logistics or business is an asset)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong knowledge of regional transportation routes and roadways
- Experience with dispatch tools such as Loadlink, DAT, and Xpert Dispatch (or similar software)
- Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Calm under pressure with a collaborative, team-first attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must be able to reliably commute to our office or plan to relocate before starting
Work Schedule
- Shift Length: 10–12 hours
- Start Time: 5AM PST (early risers preferred)
- Availability: On-call and weekends required
