Our fluid conveyance offering ranges from end user hose replacements right through to full hydraulic conveyance kitting for some of North America's largest OEMs. We also offer full hydraulic system servicing, both on site and in our shop. Our engineering department can help with the smallest of requests right up to designing and building large power units. Our drive to sell and service the best brands in the world has established our relationship with Hetronic Radio Remotes, by being Hetronic Canada, our clients can now lean on the UMI Group for support in radio remotes and electrical controls.

The
Logistics & Expediting Coordinator
is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient movement of materials, components, and finished goods throughout the supply chain. This role involves monitoring order progress, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and resolving delays to maintain production schedules and customer commitments. Strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. Additionally, the role includes selecting carriers, negotiating freight rates, and maintaining strong relationships with transportation partners to optimize performance and reduce costs for both domestic and international shipments.

Responsibilities

Supply Chain Coordination

  • Track and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm order status, resolve discrepancies, and negotiate revised delivery schedules when needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement and production teams to prevent shortages.
  • Assist with inventory control, audits, and cycle counts as needed

Logistics Management

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling carriers and managing documentation (BOLs, customs forms, etc.).
  • Work with 3PL providers and freight carriers to optimize transportation routes and costs.
  • Resolve shipment delays, damage claims, and delivery discrepancies

Production Support

  • Maintain production schedules by ensuring timely availability of materials.
  • Liaise with operations and warehouse teams to prioritize urgent orders and minimize downtime.
  • Assist in resolving bottlenecks and delays that could impact delivery timelines.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery schedules, and supplier performance metrics
  • Generate progress reports for management and stakeholders on order status and potential risks.

Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify risks in the supply chain and implement corrective actions to prevent delays.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support initiatives for digital tools and ERP systems to streamline expediting workflows.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, expediting, or procurement roles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
