Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in landscape design, site preparation, and outdoor construction, with a solid understanding of fencing, decking, and hardscape installations.

As a Landscape Designer / Technician, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing residential and commercial outdoor projects, integrating creative layouts with technical precision to ensure high-quality craftsmanship, functionality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare site layouts for fencing, decking, and landscaping projects.
  • Measure, mark, and grade work areas to meet project specifications.
  • Install and maintain landscape features, including turf, trees, shrubs, and irrigation systems.
  • Operate hand tools, power equipment, and light machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, landscape drawings, and project schematics.
  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate smart irrigation, lighting, or IoT-based components into outdoor systems.
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade existing landscape and fence structures.
  • Ensure work complies with municipal codes, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Supervise or assist field crew members as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Landscape Technology, Horticulture, or Civil/Architectural Technology preferred.
  • Proven experience in fence, deck, or landscape construction.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools common to landscape and construction work.
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and plant care principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings accurately.
  • Knowledge of smart systems integration (e.g., lighting, irrigation, or sensors) is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork ability.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.75-$37.12 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
