Role Overview
The role is focused on the origination, structuring, underwriting, and execution of CMHC-insured and conventional construction and term loans, with a primary emphasis on the multifamily asset class across Eastern Canada. It plays a critical part in expanding the commercial real estate lending portfolio by leveraging broker relationships and identifying new business opportunities. This is a strategic, client-facing position that combines credit expertise with business development acumen to support the continued growth of the lending platform.
About The Day-to-day

- Coordinate funding activities by working closely with the commercial mortgage funding team and external legal counsel to ensure timely and seamless closings.
- Monitor portfolio performance in partnership with the Credit team, and assist in resolving complex loan situations with strategic insight.
- Drive business development through proactive marketing and relationship-building to grow the CMHC and conventional loan portfolio across Eastern Canada.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in construction and term loans.
- CHMC experience considered an asset.
- Proven expertise in originating, structuring, underwriting, and executing conventional construction and bridge loans, especially in the multifamily asset class.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration; MBA or relevant professional designations (CPA, CFA, CMA) are strong assets.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English (oral and written) is essential.
- Strong commercial real estate underwriting and portfolio management skills.
- Solid understanding of AML and KYC requirements in commercial real estate financing.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build client relationships and drive business growth.
