Join the Chén̓chenstway Human Resources Department as an Admin Manager, a senior administrative leadership role that is critical to the effective operation of the department. This position provides high-level administrative oversight, supervises the administrative team, and serves as the executive administrative right hand to the Director, Chén̓chenstway Human Resources.

The Admin Manager ensures seamless administrative operations, strong internal systems, and professional service delivery while supporting departmental initiatives aligned with Squamish Nation values, policies, and strategic priorities.

This role is ideal for a proactive, highly organized, and people-centered leader who excels in senior administration, team supervision, and executive support within a complex and confidential environment.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee and manage the daily workflow of the administrative team, including reception, onboarding and offboarding, systems, equipment, projects, and office operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support Human Resources Coordinators and administrative staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct regular team and individual check-ins, ensuring staff have the tools, resources, and guidance needed to succeed.
  • Communicate job expectations, track performance, and complete performance management documentation in alignment with Squamish Nation policy.
  • Act as the administrative right hand to the Director, Chén̓chenstway Human Resources, managing calendars, correspondence, information flow, and senior administrative tasks.
  • Anticipate needs, prioritize competing demands, and ensure the Director is well-informed and prepared.
  • Attend meetings, prepare materials, draft correspondence, presentations, and reports as required.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Director, internal departments, leadership, employees, and community members with tact and professionalism.
  • Provide senior-level administrative and project support, including research, data analysis, drafting, and document management.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and improve internal administrative systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support departmental communications and contribute to annual communication planning.
  • Ensure administrative practices align with Squamish Nation employment policies, HR procedures, and applicable legislation.
  • Support budgeting activities and oversee authorization of office-related expenditures.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Administrative Studies, First Nation Studies, or a related field; OR Diploma in a relevant discipline with related experience.
  • Progressive experience in senior administration, executive support, and team supervision, preferably within HR or a policy-driven environment.
  • Experience coordinating projects, managing schedules, handling confidential information, and working within legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills, with experience preparing professional reports and correspondence.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and ethical administrative practices.
  • Knowledge of Squamish Nation, Squamish language (Skwxwú7mesh Snichim), and First Nations governance is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities, Boards, or government organizations is an asset.
  • Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of, and strong connection to, the Squamish community.

Salary: $ 75,000 - $ 112,500

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
