We aim to equip youth with the tools, knowledge, and encouragement they need to succeed in school, life, and beyond
Role Description
This is a part-time UNPAID volunteer role for a Vice President of External Affairs. The Vice President of External Affairs will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with partners, managing communication and public relations efforts, developing strategic communications plans, and conducting strategic planning to further the organization's mission. Daily tasks will include engaging stakeholders, representing the organization, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance the organization's visibility and influence. The role has an expected work week of 3-5 hours on top of a weekly team meeting, but hours may vary. The VP of External Affairs MUST be available to respond to emails and team messages within a timely manner.
Qualifications
- A current undergraduate student (preferably at the University of Calgary)
- Skills in communication, public relations, and strategic communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Leadership experience in other nonprofit organizations is not required
