The Regional Vice President (RVP) Alberta serves as a pivotal member of the Single Employer Rest of Canada leadership team, responsible for driving growth, operational excellence, and strategic alignment within their designated territory and portfolio. The leader develops robust strategies, actively monitors and executes growth initiatives, and fosters a client-centric environment that places client needs at the heart of every decision.

The RVP acts as the primary liaison between regional operations and national leadership, ensuring that local market nuances, national requirements, and emerging opportunities are effectively integrated into broader organizational plans. With a strong strategic vision, exceptional tactical operational ability, and deep financial management expertise, the RVP pursues ambitious business objectives, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize performance, elevate client experiences, manage new partners and uphold People Corporation's vision across all facets of the business.The Regional Vice President, Alberta will:

Financial Oversight

  • Oversee comprehensive financial management for the assigned territory and division, including direct responsibility for P&L (Profit and Loss) oversight

  • Set, manage, and monitor annual budgets to ensure alignment with business objectives and track performance

  • Analyze monthly financial performance including growth, retention and profitability, identifying trends and addressing variances as needed

  • Present key financial findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership to support informed decision-making

  • Lead the evaluation, monitoring and performance of carrier, vendor and supplier compensation and bonusing agreements to ensure optimal performance and creating visibility to changes in expected performance

  • Maintain diligent stewardship of resources, balancing growth ambitions with operational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Oversee and manage all consulting performance in the region, establishing metrics, tracking results, and implementing actions to achieve targets

Strategic & Commercial Planning

  • Assess the competitive landscape and map key industry players, evaluating their strengths, weaknesses, and regional and national positioning

  • Build annual commercial and operational plan for achieving objectives within the region and territory. Develop and refine go-to-market strategies tailored to local client profiles, regulatory environments, and emerging trends

  • Establish clear commercial objectives with measurable targets for portfolio growth, client retention, and new business acquisition

  • Work with leaders in the region to execute the strategy

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all commercial initiatives, regularly analyzing impact and adjusting tactics to ensure business objectives are being met

  • Engage leaders and team in proactive client relationship management, gathering feedback to inform service enhancements and strengthen client loyalty within the region

  • Act as a direct Executive Sponsor to the Top 10 clients in the region or territory. Ensure all clients have representative sponsorship within the region

  • Regularly review and update strategic and commercial plans to remain agile and responsive to evolving market dynamics

Leadership & Culture Building

  • Empower teams to take initiative, encourage innovation, and appreciate diverse perspectives for individual and organizational growth. Integrate new partners and firms into the region in the same manner

  • Build, with the team, the succession plans within the region. Acts as a mentor to emerging key talent and put into place plans for longer-term career building within the region

  • Lead by influence to build culture, shape strategy and execute regional plans

  • Champion and implement sales management best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high achievement across commercial teams

  • Set clear goals and motivate teams to achieve strong results. Mentor, coach, and support senior leaders within the region to achieve targets

  • Collaborate regularly with Corporate Development and Integration to bring new M&A partners and teams through change and help them adapt quickly within the region

To be successful as a Regional Vice President, Alberta with People Corporation, you will need:
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial or operational roles, including direct oversight of large, cross-functional teams

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field

  • Experience in brokerage, insurance, risk, group benefits and related industry are an asset

  • Related industry accreditation and LLQP are assets

  • Previous P&L management responsibility for a business unit or region, including budgeting, forecasting, delivering financial targets and reporting financial results to national and executive teams

  • Experience in strategic planning, including developing, executing, and monitoring long-term business strategies to achieve organizational objectives

  • Firsthand experience with business development, including identifying new market opportunities, negotiating major contracts, and expanding revenue streams

  • Successful record of leading complex change management initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, or digital transformations

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead diverse teams and multi-site operations, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management at the senior level

  • Experience leveraging technology and data analytics to inform business decisions and drive operational efficiency

  • The ability to travel within the region and periodically outside the region is a requirement
