Regulatory and Environment Coordinator

The role of the Environment and Regulatory Coordinator is to manage, facilitate, and administer the permitting for the construction, maintenance, and improvement of projects. The Environment and Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for knowing how to complete application documentation and reviewing that documentation to ensure that it meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements while ensuring these deliverables satisfy project deadlines. As an Environment and Regulatory Coordinator, you will liaise with various departments and government bodies within Western Canada.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the submission of accurate and timely environmental applications, amendments and renewals under EPEA, BC MOE, BC EAO
- Facilitate the submission of accurate and timely infrastructure applications using OneStop, DDS, AMS and IRIS
- Review infrastructure audit files for completeness and accuracy prior to application submission
- Project manage various projects including EA, EPEA, AUC, Solar and Water Act
- Mentor junior staff to facilitate growth and learning
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, engineers, project managers and internal personnel
MUST HAVE Qualifications:
- Environmental or Oil & Gas related post secondary or equivalent experience in regulatory
- Strong working knowledge of Alberta Environment and Protected Areas/Alberta Energy Regulator's Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA) and associated Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, Directives and Rules
- Strong working knowledge of British Columbia Energy Regulator's Oil and Gas Activities Act (OGAA) and associated Regulations, Guidelines, and Manuals
- Strong understanding of governmental infrastructure and processes in relation to energy development
- Effective interpersonal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to adhere to deadlines and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication (oral and written)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and adaptability
NICE to HAVE Qualifications:
- Experience permitting in other jurisdictions (Saskatchewan)
- Experience using Abadata
