Overview

I am seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to join my neurosurgical team at the Welcome Back Clinic. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of my medical office, providing exceptional support to both patients and medical staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting, preferentially with a surgical specialization, and be familiar with medical terminology and electronic medical records.

Duties

  • Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients and handling inquiries.
  • Schedule outpatient appointments and hospital procedures in addition to maintaining an organized calendar.
  • Process patient information, including insurance verification and electronic medical records.
  • Maintain accurate patient files and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Operate phone systems to manage incoming calls, messages, and patient communications.
  • Assist with billing and coding tasks, utilizing Accuro EMR software.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient care.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, faxing, and data entry.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant or in a similar role within a medical office with preference given to those who have worked in a surgical setting.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
  • Experience using Accuro EMR software is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of front desk operations in a healthcare setting is an asset.
