Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator/Dispatcher, under the direction of the Operations Manager, will primarily be responsible for overseeing the planning of logistics of the trip, and ensuring appropriate paperwork to transport goods and materials is obtained. This position will also coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly. The Logistics Coordinator must be resourceful in ensuring that our client's needs are being fulfilled, while maintaining full compliance with applicable legislation and company protocol.

Job Duties
· Ensure the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely.
· Schedule deliveries and pickups with Customers and assign trucks/drivers to the loads.
· Generate necessary paperwork for loads and collect completed paperwork from Drivers.
· Ensure Drivers complete paperwork properly.
· Act on opportunities that would increase efficiency for both the Company and the customer.
· Dispatch drivers and owner operators using a fair and consistent approach.
· Coordinate the daily assignment of company and contracted resources to maximize equipment utilization and payload while maintaining a high level of customer service.
· Contact customers to generate backhauls and minimize empty miles.
· Ensure trailer washes are completed where required.
· Ensure all orders and trip events are recorded in Truckmate in an accurate and timely fashion.
· Ensure that the driver has adequate time to perform his duties safely and within the Hours-of-service regulations.
· Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory compliance. Assign the proper equipment for the various job requirements.
· Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
● Two years of experience in the transportation industry
● Proven experience with resource management
● Knowledge of Truckmate software is an asset
● Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
● Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
● Knowledge of MTO Commercial Vehicle Regulations
● Must be able to problem solve with staff and customers to provide proper customer service
Work Conditions
● Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
● Occasional overtime

● Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
