Social Media Assistant (Contract, Part-Time) — The Social Fix

$17/hr

Hours:
15–20/week (max), with potential to grow into full-time

Location:
Calgary + Hybrid (Remote + On-site for shoots & events)

The Social Fix is growing and looking for a dependable, creative Social Media Assistant to support client content and day-to-day social operations. This role is ideal for someone who works efficiently, understands strategy, and can match the pace of working on social media.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in planning, creating, and publishing content for multiple client brands.
  • Attend on-site shoots, client visits, or events to capture content.
  • Edit graphics, photos, and videos (Canva required; Adobe is an asset).
  • Handle engagement: reply to comments, interact with audiences, and support community-building.
  • Learn and maintain each brand's voice, tone, and visual style.
  • Support with content organization, scheduling, and asset management.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • Experience with basic graphic design, photo editing, and video editing.
  • Ability to be on-site when needed (access to transportation required).
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Interest in social trends, best practices, and storytelling.
  • Adaptability — comfortable switching between different brand styles.
  • Able to take direction clearly and work independently.

Hours & Work Style

  • Part-time: 15–20 hours/week (max).
  • Hybrid: primarily remote with required on-site content capture.
  • Potential to transition into full-time as the company grows.
  • Flexible week-to-week workflow, but consistency and reliability are essential.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Photography or videography experience.
  • Light copywriting skills.
  • Experience with scheduling tools (Later, Planoly, Meta Planner, etc.).
  • Previous experience working with small businesses or creatives.
