The Receptionist is responsible for providing front desk reception services to residents, visitors, staff, and volunteers. The receptionist works as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support to the organization, working under the direction of the Director of Corporate Services. The receptionist is responsible for providing their duties in a responsible, safe, and professional manner which is reflective of St. Joseph's at Flemings Vision, Mission and Values.
Responsibilities:
- Manages incoming calls for the building, directs calls as required to the appropriate parties
- Sorts and distributes all incoming and outgoing mail, newspapers, medications and reports, as assigned
- Maintaining and updating internal documents, i.e. Internal Contact Posters, Roam Alerts,
- Receive and send courier items online through Purolator
- Acts as a main point of contact for those entering and leaving the building, provides directions, and ensures all necessary signing in/out tasks are completed accordingly
- Maintaining a cash box for the sale of dining tickets, stamps, picture hooks, etc.
- Assists with the production of various information publications, such as brochures, pamphlets and posters
- Create all Resident Handbooks, Admission Packages, and Tour Packages
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Functions within the confines of relevant legislation, codes, acts, policies, procedures and standards and collective agreements
- Participate in annual education, required in-services, committees and adheres to St. Joseph's at Flemings policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in a high-energy, technical, demanding, and multi-tasking environment
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Previous Receptionist experience an asset
- Must have proficient computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to work weekends, statutory holidays, and varied shifts
- Must have excellent written, verbal, and nonverbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess strong conflict resolution skills and critical thinking skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
