Gear Power is looking for a Parts and Service Advisor to join our team in Mississauga. Gear Power specializes in truck mounted equipment, specifically hydraulics and SPIF, along with snow and ice control equipment. We have been in business eight years, and are growing rapidly.

About the role:

Our parts and service advisors are responsible for all the internal functions of the truck shop at Gear Power. This includes answering all customer inquiries and service requests, coordinating work orders in the shop, managing inventory, following up on back orders and many other tasks. You would be wearing many hats - but involved in all major aspects of our shop operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle walk in customer requests and phone calls for parts and service department
  • Schedule all service jobs and prepare work orders
  • Create quotations for service as required
  • Ensure status update on jobs being performed in the shop at any time
  • Responsible for ordering parts directly from manufacturers and follow purchase order procedures
  • Receive parts and confirm accuracy and condition of shipped orders
  • Update pricing details and minimum order quantities in the Inventory system
  • Follow up on back orders and delays and update management
  • Organize parts area and assist with inventory
  • Assist with warranty claims
  • Handle other shop-related tasks

Must Haves:

- Experience in a Parts and Service role is a MUST

- Experience with Truck Hydraulics is a BONUS

- The ability to work in a faced paced environment, mostly independently once trained

- Detail oriented, dependable and punctual

- Excellent communication skills; being able to work with others is a necessity

- Strong computer skills

- Valid G class license with a clean driving record

About the work environment:

Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

Location: Mississauga, Tomken Road just north of Derry

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Customer service: 2 years (required)
  • Automotive shop or Truck shop: 2 years (preferred)
