About this role

Niagara Falls Tourism is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and experienced Manager, Niagara Falls Business Events (NFBE). As a key member of the Niagara Falls Tourism sales team, this role is responsible for strategic lead generation, client acquisition, relationship management, and positioning Niagara Falls as a premier destination for conventions, meetings, and business events. The Manager will drive revenue growth, build destination awareness, and deliver exceptional client experiences, supporting the organization's mission to generate economic impact through group bookings and visitor spending.

The Manager, Niagara Falls Business Events, reports directly to the Director of Sales of Niagara Falls Tourism.

What we are looking for in you:

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing in business events, hospitality, or tourism sectors.

  • Minimum 2 years of senior sales management experience preferred.

  • Proven success in selling large-scale meetings and conventions.

  • Experience working within small teams and collaborating effectively across all departments.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of local, regional, national, and international tourism trends.

  • Expertise in Meetings, Conventions, and Incentive Travel Sales Markets.

  • Advanced knowledge of sales strategies, policies, procedures, and analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability in lead generation, client solicitation, and relationship building.

  • Strong financial acumen aligned with organizational budget goals.

  • Advanced computer skills & developing technology comprehension, including Microsoft Office, database/CRM management, and workflow tools.

  • Excellent communication and presentation, in written, verbal & active listening skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple activities, and exercise good judgment.

  • Professional demeanor and commitment to service excellence and brand representation.

  • Willingness & understanding that travel for trade shows, sales missions, and client engagement across North America and internationally is a core function of the position.

  • Valid Passport, travel documentation for international travel and a Driver's License required.

-While most of the work is contained within a standard workday, there will be times when you are needed to work outside of the traditional hours and on weekends to perform the primary functions of the role. Some days may contain early or late meetings beyond the scheduled work hours.

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • Travel/Tourism Industry: 5 years (preferred)
  • Senior Sales Management: 2 years (preferred)
