The Opportunity
Metro Testing + Engineering is hiring new Materials Testing Technicians because we added more projects and clients into our service portfolio. Whether you are an experienced Technicians or someone who is new to the field, you will be joining a company that is looking to develop their employees through training, coaching, and skill development.
Who we are:
Metro Testing + Engineering (Metro) was established in 1987 in Metro Vancouver, BC to provide the materials testing of concrete, asphalt, and soils for the construction industry. Since then, we have grown to include a diverse scope of services that now includes specialty testing, materials engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, concrete restoration, and quality assurance certification throughout BC and Alberta.
What you will be doing:
- to provide third party independent sampling and testing of construction materials for quality control/quality assurance purposes.
- Sampling and Testing Concrete and Soil in the field and lab settings
- Preform test following the industry standard protocols and procedures
- Troubleshooting real time compliance issues in the field and monitoring non-compliance protocols
What you will be getting:
- Hourly wage between $23-25/hr

Who we are looking for:
- Previous experience with testing concrete is an asset
- Diploma in Civil Engineering is an asset
- Valid BC driver's license (all successful candidates will be asked to provide their driver's abstract)
- Appropriate vehicle for use on construction sites (company vehicle is an option)
- Ability to lift and control weights up to 16 kilos / 35 lbs.
- Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn customized computer programs
- Strong ethics
