As a Quality Assurance Technician at VitaminLab, you will play a crucial role in supporting both the QA and Production teams by ensuring ongoing compliance with quality assurance and GMP standards throughout our manufacturing operations. This position involves contributing to daily quality assurance processes and also provides opportunities to help develop and refine our QA and QC systems for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include reviewing manufacturing records and product labels, maintaining and calibrating in-house equipment, conducting laboratory tests, assisting with SOP development, documenting incoming materials, processing test results, preparing reports, and managing quality assurance records.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, possess a solid understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements, be highly proficient in documentation and data entry, and exhibit self-motivation and strong organizational skills. This role is well-suited for individuals who are passionate about maintaining high-quality standards and supporting innovation in the dietary supplement industry.
This is a 8-month contract position (fixed term ending October 2nd, 2026), offering the opportunity to gain valuable experience and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic quality assurance team. The possibility of extending the role or transitioning to a permanent position will be assessed towards the end of the contract depending on business needs and performance.
Quality Assurance Technician duties include:
- Assist QA manager & team to ensure that quality systems are established and maintained in compliance with Health Canada, FDA, NSF and GMP regulations.
- Review daily manufacturing records and finished product labels for accuracy, completeness, and compliance to specifications.
- Conduct and document maintenance of in-house equipment including FTIR spectrometer, digital scales, and temperature monitors.
- Sample raw materials and finished products, performing and arranging for in-house (FTIR, identification and microbiological) and third-party laboratory testing.
- Document and review incoming materials, maintain accuracy of associated ERP records.
- Assist with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and validation of new manufacturing processes / equipment.
- Process results from in-house and third-party laboratory product testing. Document and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, trending, and summarizing results.
- Prepare quality assurance documentation according to internal SOPs.
- Perform data entry, file, and maintain quality assurance records.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years experience working in a manufacturing quality assurance or laboratory role.
- Organizational skills and strong ability to multi-task. Ability to establish priorities in their work area.
- Computer knowledge and ability to work with various programs (Microsoft, Excel, & Word, Google Sheets) to create written documents/letters of response, spreadsheets, reports, forms/logs for the recording of data.
- Must be able to perform under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal & written).
- Detail-oriented analytical thinker.
- Strong sense of teamwork and ability to work with a diverse group of individuals including upper management and the ability to develop positive working relationships.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.

The typical starting base salary range for this position is $45, ,000 CDN. This role is based out of our 2110 Store Street Facility in Victoria, BC.
