Ontario Potato Dist. (Alliston) 1991 Inc. has operated as a solely family-owned venture for over 50 years and has been providing high-quality potatoes across Ontario. O.P.D.I. now offers a wide range of services including:
- Potato packing, storage, and distribution
- Logistics and transport
- Offloading services
- Quality assurance
- Home delivery services
This is a full-time permanent position working out of our head office location in Alliston, Ontario, and will report to the Controller.
Hours of work: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts receivable data
- Process weekly customer payments
- File and organize customer invoices/ payments including storing, managing, and tracking company documents
- Answering general inquiries by phone or email and directing to appropriate departments
- Research and resolve accounts receivable issues directly with customer
- Track sickness and vacation accruals etc.
- Process information for onboarding new hires, resignations, and terminations.
- Send ROE to Service Canada electronically and add copy to the employee's file.
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of working experience with payroll/accounts receivable
- Above average computer skills using MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience using Clarity is an asset
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in the trucking/logistics/warehouse industry is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively
- Able to work well independently and as a member of a team
