We are hiring for a Dealer Relationship Manager our Auto Finance department.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Auto Finance the primary goal of the Dealer Relationship Manager is to build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with automotive dealerships to drive loan growth and enhance the credit union's presence in the auto financing market. This role combines relationship management, business development, and credit expertise to support dealers with financing solutions, training, and operational guidance.
What you'll be doing:
- Promote and sell the Credit Union's auto-financing products, services, and programs to new and existing dealers to increase market penetration and achieve volume objectives.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of underwriting principles in the automotive industry and administration of risk and compliance in funding. Applying expertise in assessing both reputational and credit-related risks to ensure effective decision-making.
- Provide comprehensive guidance and training to dealership staff on product knowledge, operating procedures, and compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Understands AMVIC regulations.
- Analyze dealer-specific data and performance metrics to identify trends, address problem areas, share best practices, and develop strategies for improvement and growth.
- Act as the main point of contact for dealer inquiries, issues, or complaints, and collaborates with internal stakeholder teams to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive market rates, and changes in the retail landscape in order to provide consultative service to dealer partners and report findings to management.
- Maintain detailed records of dealer interactions, sales activities, and performance data in Salesforce and prepares regular reporting for management as required.
What you bring:
- 4 - 6 years experience in sales, account management, or the auto finance industry, often within a dealership setting (e.g., F&I manager, sales manager).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are essential for building rapport, negotiating, and delivering presentations effectively.
- Strong sales acumen and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets that are key to driving revenue growth.
- The ability to analyze data and reports to inform strategic decisions and optimize dealer performance.
- Capable of working remotely with minimal supervision.
- Willing to travel within assigned territory, with occasional overnight stays.
- Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
Experience:
- A thorough understanding of dealership operations, auto finance processes, and the broader automotive market.
- Familiarity with CRM software and other industry-specific platforms.
- The ability to work independently, manage a territory, and meet deadlines, often involving frequent travel.
Education:
- Completed a relevant certificate, diploma, degree or designation program
