Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy machinery, including Palfinger truck monted cranes, truck mouted forklifts, Manitou Telehandlers, and farm equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in heavy equipment such as cranes, and forklifts.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of machinery including Manitou and Palfinger products.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly and repair tasks.
  • Read and interpret schematics to understand electrical systems in heavy equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each piece of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating heavy machinery during repairs.

Skills

  • Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting as required.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs.
  • Experience working with industrial equipment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read schematics for electrical systems and automotive repair tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a strong attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
