Work Description

We are looking for an experienced 310T mechanic to maintain our fleet of trucks and equipment. This would include diagnose, repair and maintaining of electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and diesel engine repairs of our fleet.

Major Responsibilities:

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain a fleet of dump trucks.
  • Diagnose, repair and maintain backhoes.
  • Preventative maintenance on all trucks and equipment.

Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Interest in mechanics
  • Good senses (touch, smell, etc.) to diagnose a problem.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Detailed focus "attention to detail".
  • Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy machinery and work in cramped or awkward position.
  • Openness to learn new technologies and techniques.
  • Experience in heavy equipment/truck repair and maintenance.
  • Journeyman/Journeywoman certification as either a Truck or Coach Technician (310T) or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic (421A) would be an asset but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction/heavy equipment.
  • Must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience with equipment such as Backhoes is and asset.

Work Environment:

  • Difficult weather conditions, may require working outdoors and on site when equipment breaks down.
  • Working on heated floors and below heavy equipment.
  • Local travel with service truck may be required to sites when break downs happen.
  • Service Truck on site

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
