Job Summary

Our Company is currently seeking a Marketing and PR Coordinator to join the VTech and LeapFrog brands in our Canada head office in Richmond, B.C.

The Marketing and PR Coordinator role for the VTech and LeapFrog brands in our Canada head office in Richmond, BC is responsible for assisting in planning, design, and implementation of marketing activities in collaboration with members of the larger project team. They will also be tasked with eCommerce product set up and enhancement, as well as content and social media planning and execution.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, they will help with execution and coordination of marketing and PR campaigns with external agencies and internal teams. Also, they will utilize asset management systems to maintain marketing assets and publish to retailers. The coordinator works with independence but regularly communicates with the Senior Marketing Manager and team members.

The candidate will support the creative and the technical aspects of online content, social media marketing, web copy, webpage enhancement, in-store merchandising and video content.

This position requires working effectively within an organizational structure and also involves a high degree of self-direction, the ability to work with tight timelines and strong interpersonal skills.

The Marketing and PR Coordinator must also exercise good will, tact, judgment and discretion in working with various senior professionals and collaborating with internal and external agencies.

Work Performed

The Marketing and PR Coordinator will be responsible for:

a. eCommerce Marketing

  • Utilize asset management software to compile and maintain marketing assets
  • Responsible for assisting in retailer product page audits and product page assets/builds and syndication
  • Help in content pushes and accuracy audits of retailers' site product detail pages and final enhanced content creative implementation
  • Assist with and brand site support as well as integrating priority messages and promotions
  • Manage and coordinate retailer review programs
  • Create store planograms using store planning software

b. Content Marketing

  • Assist in multi-channel copywriting, editing and proofreading for external marketing campaigns
  • Ensure proper usage of brand, voice, and style, as well as organization, grammar, sentence, structure, and punctuation
  • Translate technical information into compelling marketing messages.
  • Website content creation and maintenance (landing pages, blogs, infographics, banners)
  • Assist in developing advertising and paid media creative assets
  • Enhanced content project management and implementation

c. Public Relations

  • Work in partnership with PR agency to develop campaigns, focusing on key products
  • Maintain regular contact with agency to strategize and build engaging and effective campaigns
  • Complete marketing briefs to outline key campaign messaging
  • Coordination of sample shipments

d. Social Media Marketing

  • Assist in creating social media marketing strategy and content in a manner that supports marketing initiatives, while increasing brand equity and awareness.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources ensuring a consistent marketing message
  • Responsible for content publication in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and improve social Media marketing activities and strategies to increase customer engagement.

Day to Day operations include:

  • Establishing ongoing priorities, directions, work plans and timelines within the context, responsibilities and deliverables of the ongoing projects
  • Engaging in all aspects of the project work
  • Consulting with team members to organize, implement and coordinate project deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional internal and external communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills while working with all levels within the company
  • High level of thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate high level of initiative and self-directedness.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities with an ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities and across global time zones requiring a flexible can-do attitude.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, using clear concise business English.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity in marketing campaign development, marketing copywriting and development of unique copy, based on value propositions and messages
  • Computer experience and intermediate competency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to creatively resolve issues, understanding constraints of business resources, budgets, and timelines, while remaining adaptable and flexible.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • Knowledge of social media channels
  • Sense of curiosity, and desire to ask questions and "think outside the box"
  • Strong problem-solving skills

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • 1-2 years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Marketing or Communications or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform essential functions of this role.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro)
  • Experience with utilizing Canva for various purposes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
