About Us

We're JCL Strategies, a Canadian cloud-based bookkeeping firm that helps small businesses stay financially organized and ahead of the curve. Most of our clients are in the construction and service industries, and they count on us to keep their books clean, accurate, and easy to understand.

We've built solid systems, detailed SOPs, and step-by-step checklists for everything we do. Everything is already documented. Now we're looking for someone who can follow the process, spot anything that feels off, and help keep things running smoothly.

We are not a chaotic startup or a "figure it out as you go" kind of place. We value structure, accountability, and strong communication. If you like knowing exactly what's expected, and you take pride in doing things properly, you'll feel right at home here.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has two or more years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Has two or more years of experience working in QuickBooks Online
  • Communicates clearly, consistently, and respectfully
  • Asks questions when something doesn't make sense
  • Follows instructions and systems without skipping steps
  • Is a self-starter who finishes what they start
  • Pays attention to the little things most people miss
  • Can do a bit of digging when the numbers aren't straightforward
  • Thrives in a structured remote role with set hours

What You'll Be Doing

  • Processing and reviewing receipts submitted through Dext
  • Matching, adding, and transferring bank transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Requesting missing information or receipts from clients using Keeper
  • Keeping financial records clean, accurate, and organized
  • Following written processes and meeting deadlines
  • Communicating with clients and the internal team

Hours: Monday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST (24 to 32 hours per week)

Location: Remote (Canada-based only)

Compensation: $18 to $26 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
